Experience
Education has always been my passion, a driving force that has propelled me towards performing at my best in my career. With 15 years of teaching and learning experience in various positions, including primary and middle school, and most recently as the Science Instructional Leader of the Elementary school, I am still ardently motivated to take on a higher leadership position in a school that reflects my professional values. I aim to produce a whole school cohort that works enthusiastically towards improving student outcomes and training students to be world-class citizens.
As a teacher and Head of the Department, I have always strived to stay current with the changing trends in the education sector. I have engaged in professional development opportunities, such as visiting schools in Victoria, Australia on a scholarship to observe best teaching and learning practices. I believe in continuously developing my skillset to enhance my teaching abilities.
With a broad range of teaching experience across age groups 10-16, I have consistently received excellent reviews from my superiors on my teaching skills. In my classroom, I believe that every student is educable and should be included, while learning at their own pace. I strive to create a learning experience for each student that extends beyond textbooks, curriculum, and classroom walls. As a Supervisor, I ensure that students connect and apply concepts to the real world, emphasizing cross-curricular connections.
As a teacher and Leader, I collect student data and represent each student's progress through a data wall to identify overall needs of each child and the group. I provide ongoing support, constructive feedback, diagnostic tests, differentiated instruction, IEPs, and effective follow-up for differently-abled students. My focus is on standardized assessments, reporting based on standards, and improving student learning data.
I take pride in coaching and mentoring team members from different nationalities and am eager to impart my skills to provide a cutting-edge professional touch to future leadership positions. I have led professional learning programs that include regular meetings, forums, workshops, peer observations, and evaluations to enhance teaching skills.
As a leader, I prioritize clear communication skills and strive to keep parents and stakeholders informed through concise and sensitive communication. My principle is that every child is educable, and it is our responsibility as teachers and leaders to provide a learning space for each child to thrive.
In essence, my drive for challenges, knowledge, and diversifying my teaching and leadership skills has guided me through various career levels. I will continue to seek new professional challenges in future opportunities.
