Experience:As a qualified teacher of Humanities in an independent school, I have a wealth of experience in tutoring pupils of all ages.
I teach English, Maths, and Science from Year 5 through to GCSE and English up to A-Level. Over the past 8 years, I have prepared hundreds of students for independent school entrance tests, GCSE, and A-Level examinations. I have also worked closely alongside international students for 4 years.
I currently tutor across AQA, OCR, Edexcel, and IB examination boards and have full knowledge of each syllabus. I have also worked as an examiner for both AQA and Edexcel for the last two years.
I am passionate about teaching and believe that stimulating, well-planned lessons inspire creative thinking and promote sound learning. I am driven by the belief that learning should always be immensely enjoyable and connected to experience because, quite simply, the lessons we remember best are those that we enjoy the most.
I have tutored students from all over the world for over six years, and it is patently clear to me that an upbeat, positive, and fun approach to learning fosters self-belief, builds confidence, and raises academic performance.
Whether it is a matter of getting back-to-basics and going through key concepts and formulae or unraveling the intricacies of past-papers and preparing for imminent exams, I will ensure each of my students masters the necessary skills to the point where they can exercise them with confidence and mastery.
Approach:With regards to my teaching style, my lessons aim to be interactive and accessible for all learners. They are personalized to meet the needs of my learners. There is a range of assessment for learning implemented throughout to check understanding but also stretch students to exceed their targets. I utilize a range of retrieval practice strategies as well as sequencing to aid retention. Assessment is used throughout to support students in their application of knowledge, build their skills, and confidence in sitting assessments.
